Past Artists - Thea Haubrich

Thea Haubrich lives in British Columbia, Canada, near the city of Penticton – “A place to stay forever!”

Thea was born in Rotterdam, Holland and being a "Flying Dutchman“ she has lived in Austria, Japan and Germany over the past 20 years.

Her interest in crafts and sewing got her started making dolls and worked with watercolours, but it didn’t fulfill her. She was first introduced to Encaustic Art 1998, through a German friend who showed her some small, beautiful shining pictures, painted on sealed paper. The colours were so bright and the details so intricate, that she decided she must have a go at it!
